The messaging app battle is heating up. Messaging apps are changing the way mobile communications happen and the recent acquisitions in this domain are a testament to the potential for growth. We are glad to share that the CEO of a leading player in the messaging app space, Uri Raz of Tango, will be joining us at GMIC 2014.
In March this year Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba invested $215 million in Tango, valuing it at more than $1.1 billion. Investment from Alibaba, plans for China and Facebook’s acquisition of Whatsapp will be some of the topics the fireside chat will explore.
Prior to Tango, Uri founded and served as CEO of Dyyno, a video streaming and distribution company. Prior to that, Uri was founder and CEO of Appstream, which was acquired by Symantec in 2006. Uri also served as CEO for Golden Screens Interactive Technologies (GSIT), founded Shore Technologies that was acquired by Ness Technologies (Israeli EDS) in 2002, and founded Teletel, Israel’s first online search engine, that is the leading search portal in Israel today.
The session is scheduled for May 6, 2014 from 11:20AM to 11:40 AM.
